Behind-the-Wheel

Instructor | Mr. Egan
Students must complete SIX hours of behind-the-wheel sessions to be eligible for the driver's road test.
Each behind-the-wheel session will last TWO hours.
Students need to schedule THREE separate behind-the-wheel sessions to meet the requirement.
Students are required to bring their PERMIT to each behind-the-wheel session.
Students need to complete at least 50 hours of supervised practice driving (including at least 15 hours at night) with their parent/guardian.
The required supervised practice driving hours are reduced to 40 hours (15 at night) if a parent/guardian attends the Point of Impact: Teen Driver Safety Parent Awareness Program. We suggest that the student attend as well, but it is not required (make sure to get a yellow card before you leave as proof of attendance).
Students are required to document their supervised practice driving hours using a driving log that will be signed by a parent/guardian when it is complete.
The RoadReady app is a simple way to document your practice hours with the ability to download your completed driving log.
Students can also log their hours by hand using the State-approved Supervised Driving Log.
The driving log must be presented at the time of the road test and submitted with the application for the student's provisional license.
Parents/guardians are encouraged to provide as many additional driving hours with their teen as possible to prepare them to become a safe driver.
Behind-the-wheel hours do NOT count towards your SUPERVISED PRACTICE DRIVING time.
Supervising drivers must be 21 years of age or older.
Each session will START and FINISH at Eastview High School.
It's preferred that students complete some supervised practice driving before scheduling any behind-the-wheel sessions (this gives the student some experience and comfort driving a vehicle).
Students need experience with all driving conditions: nighttime, rain, and winter. We will continue behind-the-wheel opportunities in all of these conditions.
If conditions become undrivable, we will cancel the behind-the-wheel session with a phone call.
I'm scheduling students via text/email, so this calendar is currently unavailable.
You can ONLY access the scheduling calendar through the student driver's district Collab account, so make sure students log into Collab before getting started.
Are you having trouble accessing the scheduling calendar? Try logging out of ALL other Gmail accounts and then log into your Collab account.
