Are you taking your road test at Eagan's Exam Station?
Here are a few things to remember before completing your road test at the Eagan Drivers License Exam Station.
Course Set-Up
All roads on the course are four lanes. This includes two-way (marked and unmarked) and one-way roads. It’s important to remember this.
General Parking Reminder
Parking is not the make-or-break moment on your test. The most important thing about parking is to ensure you do NOT hit a cone, so start over as many times as needed.
They want you to demonstrate that you will not hit a car (cone), no matter how much you messed up your approach. Do NOT hesitate to start again.
Two-Way Marked Road
Eagan Two-Way Unmarked Road
Unmarked Two-Way Road
There is an unmarked two-way road on the course with four lanes. This is not that common of a road, so this part of the course can be confusing.
Driving in this section is the same as driving on the road pictured to the top left; however, there are no markings on the pavement.
Bottom Left: See how you should drive while on this section of the course.
Make sure to turn from the correct lanes

One-Way Road
The one-way road on the course is four lanes. When turning from the one-way, you will enter a two-way road. Make sure you turn onto the correct side of the road.
Remember:
When entering the turn lanes at the end of the one-way, the lines are SOLID. A solid line indicates that lane changes are discouraged, even though a white line indicates that traffic is moving in the same direction. They will instruct lane changes before entering this section.
If you turn left from the one-way:
You must turn from the left two lanes.
Stay in your assigned lane.
It’s not an automatic fail if you turn into the other lane, but it’s not the preferred method, so it’s a deduction.
Stay to the right of the center line as you enter the new road.
Turning onto the wrong side of the road is an automatic fail.
If you are turning right from the one-way:
You must turn from the right two lanes.
Stay in your assigned lane.
It’s not an automatic fail if you turn into the other lane, but it’s not the preferred method, so it’s a deduction.
It is an automatic fail if you turn the wrong way onto a one-way road. Sometimes they ask you to turn the wrong way onto this road, but tell them you can't and keep driving.
NO TURN ON RED
You can turn right on a RED light after coming to a legal stop unless a "NO TURN ON RED" sign is posted.
A "NO TURN ON RED" sign is posted on the Eagan course.
Only turn red once you have a green light. It's an automatic fail if you turn right on a red light when this sign is posted.
Uncontrolled Intersection
The Eagan course has an uncontrolled intersection. When approaching this intersection, slow down to look for other approaching traffic.
The first to arrive has the right away, so others must yield.
Remember that sometimes drivers must yield the right of way to avoid a crash, even though they arrived first, so slow down and see what others will do.
