2nd Grade

May 15, 2020 -

Some of you may have heard of Google Classroom.

I know in class we haven't gone onto it at all.

Now is our time to see if we can get onto it!

This week, I would like to see you log onto google using your google account information.

This will be good practice for when you go into 3rd grade and beyond!

Click here to go to GOOGLE.

Then, click on sign in in the top right corner.

Type: lunchnumber@apps.brsd.org your password: Raiders123

An example is 30111@apps.brsd.org... Don't forget to use a capital R in Raiders123 and NO SPACES!

**Have your computer save it if you can!**

Hope you made it that far!

Then, once you see a little circle with the first letter of your name in the top right corner, you have it correct!

You will then see 9 little grey squares next to that circle. Click there and then click classroom.

You should then see a PLUS sign! Click there and type in:

4u2rie7

That will bring you into the class!

I hope to see all of you in there!

Next Friday I am going to have you do something in there... so be on the lookout!

In the mean time, practice TYPETASTIC!!!

This week, just for fun, I want to see if you can find something in your house that had ALL the letters of the alphabet. (if you don't have them, you can make them with paper and cut them out!)

Then, arrange the letters so they are a computer keyboard! (Remember, the keyboard letters are NOT in order!)

Take a photo and send it to me on Dojo!!!

Let's see how creative you can be!!! I have a surprise in store!!!

As always, its good to practice your typing skills.

On Typetastic, I would go to Unit 3, and start with the first land and work through those levels.

Then, try your hand at this coding activity, which is called Candy Quest.

You can always go to the STEM page and log into your Code account there and continue those lessons. If you forgot your password, please send me a message on Dojo and I will get it to you!

You can also go back to BotLogic or LightBot!

Something new.. If you have a device where you can have apps, why not get Scratch Jr. Or Kodable! Or CodeSpark!

Weeks 10 - 20 -

We are continuing to use Typetastic to practice proper finger placement.

We will be learning how to use Microsoft Word to learn how to use different tools like shapes and adding online pictures.

Week 9 -

Today, we are going to learn about using both hands while typing.

We are going to try and use Typetastic to properly type.

Week 3 -

Today, we are going to review the special keys on the keyboard.

Then, we are going to type our names 3 times and learn how to change fonts.

Week 2 -

Today, we are going to review Router's Birthday Surprise.

Then, we are going to create a Wanted poster on one of the outlaws.

Week 1 -

Go over the classroom rules and what we will be doing this year.

Assign Seats

Go over basic computer parts.

Explain headphones and using the mouse.

Introduce Internet Safety.

Watch Router's Birthday Surprise on NetSmartz.

Discuss Internet Safety.
