Student Council (HS) meets every Friday from 2:30-3:30pm in the library. Our meetings are open to all students, and those in good academic standing can apply to join as a StuCo representative for their grade. StuCo reps are expected to join at least one committee, attend and participate in all meetings, and share the concerns and ideas of their classmates. This club is advised by Mrs. Pyne.
AMHS Drama Club performs three productions per year, with cast and crew opportunities for students in grades 6-12. Rehearsals are held in the auditorium from 2:30-4:30pm 3-4 days per week, depending on the needs of the show. Members are expected to attend all rehearsals and performances and to maintain good academic standing. Students who are particularly dedicated may earn the opportunity to be inducted into the International Thespian Society. This club is advised by Mrs. Pyne and Ms. Rounds.
ACES, also known as Avon’s Coalition for Everyone's Success, is active throughout the school year. ACES mission is to seek partnerships to foster efforts to reduce substance use disorder and promote positive, healthy decisions by people in Avon. They have middle school and high school meetings, middle school on Tuesdays at 2:15 in the middle school hall, and high school on Thursdays at 2:15 in the library. They compete annually with Team Rival and mentor students with SALSA (Students Advocating for Life Without Substance Use). Although you must be in highschool for SALSA, and have to be recommended for Team Rival, ACES is open to everybody. This club is advised by Mrs. Isidor.
The National Honor Society is a prestigious group whose main purpose is to enrich the school and community through service projects. Membership in the NHS is open to students in grades 10-12 who meet the high standards of scholarship, character, leadership, and service. Students who seek consideration for candidacy in the Dr. Christopher Morse Chapter of the National Honor Society must meet the following criteria: be at least a Sophomore, who has earned 30 or more credits, maintain a cumulative average GPA of 3.2 (out of 4.0) or higher, and reflect the four central tenets of the National Honor Society through documented evidence of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. According to your transcript, your current GPA is 3.2 (out of 4.0) or higher. If you are interested in candidacy, please complete the Candidate Information Packet. This club is advised by Ms. Howe.
Art club is for students in Grades 6-12 and it's a great place to make connections and flex those artistic muscles. This club typically takes on a variety of projects and requests from other clubs, showing off unique artistic abilities. They meet every Monday at 2:30pm. This club is advised by Mrs. DiChiara.
Black Student Union is all about creating a safe place, representing the black community, allowing black voices to be heard, empowering and educating students, and most of all unifying black students. This club is advised by Mrs. Shanks-Correia and Ms. Leaver.
One of the main goals of the Interact Club is to give students the chance to collaborate in a global community centered on service and intercultural understanding. Students must have strong morals and the ability to take on leadership roles in order to join. The club works on projects every year that are intended to benefit the community or school and advance global understanding. The club meets on Wednesdays from 2:30-3:30p. Students in high school have the chance to take part in enjoyable and significant community service projects through the club. Students that participate in Interact Club gain confidence in their leadership abilities and learn how to take the initiative while forming new friendships. This club is advised by Mr. Lochrie.
The Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) is a safe and welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ students and allies at AMHS. We meet on Mondays from 2:30–3:00 PM in Room 133 with Ms. Lambert. Our club focuses on building community, offering support, and celebrating diversity. We participate in national LGBTQIA+ action days, host fun events like art and movie days, and hold a Pride Celebration in June. This is a supportive space where students build community and celebrate diversity. This club is available to middle and high school!
This club is for for anyone interesting in reading and learning more about the bible! We meet Thursdays after school from 2:30 to 3:30! This club is advised by Mr. Huebeny and Mr. Burke, and will be held in room 236. Bible study is open to both middle and high school!
Set Building is advised by Mr. Lochrie and meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-3:30pm in Mr. Wood's room.
Brick Club is an after school club where students can come together and build with Lego and other brick like materials! Often there are sets supplied to be built but also students are encouraged to come up with their own creations! This club is advised by Mr. Ferro and Mr. Wood, and will be held in room 213, after school on Wednesday from 2:15 to 3:00. Brick Builders is open to both middle and high school!
In Tabletop Games club, we get together to play a diverse set of games, all united by the common thread that can be played upon a tabletop - this can include board games, such as Battleship, Scrabble, and Catan, card games, such as Uno, and even a fantasy roleplaying game. There will also be many more games that we will play! We will be meeting on Tuesdays after school! This club is advised by Dr. Jumper, in room 121! Tabletop games will be open to both middle and high school!
The Middle School Cooking Club is held in the kitchen located in the high school and typically meets for an hour and a half to make various delicious treats and dishes. We rotate groups of 10 each Monday and enjoy cooking and baking. Student groups choose what they would like to make, produce a shopping list, learn to read directions, measure, find appropriate cooking utensils and navigate their way around the kitchen. Most importantly, students eat the delicious food and take pride in what they have created.
The Middle School Homework club meets for an hour and is a time to get any work done while having access to teacher help and snacks!

Science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) club is an extracurricular activity that gives high school students the chance to learn about these subjects outside of the classroom. Students who participate in STEM clubs can enhance their critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving abilities—all of which are valuable in the real world. They can aid students in getting ready for highly sought-after tech careers. In the past, the STEM club has projected rockets after school.
