Middle School Expectations
Expectations:
Expectation 1:
Students are to arrive to class on time and prepared
Bring your materials and be in the room before the final ring of the bell. Take the most direct route to your seat without interrupting other students.
Expectation 2:
Hats and hoods are to remain off and cell phones and ear buds out of sight unless given specific and temporary teacher permission
This means in classrooms and the hallways!
Expectation 3:
Students are to be respectful to their classmates and teachers and use appropriate behavior during class
No interjections or interruptions when others are speaking
No unkind or inappropriate comments towards classmates or teachers
*There is no such thing as “just joking"* Mean things labeled as humor are still mean
Consequences:
Strike 1:
Verbal Warning
Teacher may say "this is your warning" or may ask a student to stop one time
(life lesson: someone should only have to ask for something to stop one time)
Strike 2:
Teacher Detention or phone taken by teacher
and
Phone call/email home
Teacher Detentions (TDs) are 15 minutes for tardiness or hoods; 30 minutes for behavior
Strike 3:
Office Referral/Write-up
Office detentions are much longer than TDs and are recorded in student files
