ASD1 is not providing or requiring cases for the Chromebooks.
IF you would like to purchase a case for your Chromebook, the model is a Lenovo 100e Generation 4. These Chromebooks are 11.6 inches. Look for the specific model or 11.6 inch case size when purchasing a case.

If you step away from your Chromebook, we recommend locking your screen for extra security. You can close the top cover or lock the screen.

All students and staff will be issued a district charger with the Chromebook. The charger is labeled with the student/staff name and district assest tag. Chargers are checked out to students and staff. These must be returned at the end of each school year or when you leave ASD1. Students/staff will be charged for lost chargers.
Connect the power cord to the ac power adapter.
Plug the power adapter into the USB Type-C connector of the Chromebook.
Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet.
The ac power status indicator is next to the USB Type-C connector. This table shows the indicator behaviors and the indicated power and battery status.

Using the Touchpad
Using the Touchpad
The entire touchpad surface is sensitive to finger touch and movement. You can use the touchpad to perform all the pointing, clicking, and scrolling functions of a traditional mouse.
When using two or more fingers, ensure that you position your fingers slightly apart. Some gestures are only available when you are using certain apps.
If the touchpad surface is dirty, turn off the Chromebook first. Then, gently wipe the touchpad surface with a soft and lint-free cloth.

To use the camera on your Chromebook, you'll first need to open the Camera app. Locate the Launcher icon (usually a circle in the bottom left corner) and search for "Camera". Once the app is open, you can select from different modes like Photo, Video, or Scan.
Open the Camera App: *Click the Launcher icon (the circle) in the bottome left corner of the screen. *Type "Camera" in the search bar and select the Camera app icon.
Choose a Mode: *Once the Camera app is open, you'll see options like "Photo", "Video", and "Scan". *Select the mode you want to use ("Photo" to take a picture. "Video" to record a video)
Take a Photo or Record a Video: *For Photos: Click the shutter button (it looks like a camera shutter) to take a picture. *For Videos: Press the start recording button (it usually looks like a circle) to begin recording.

Click Shift + Control + Show Windows keys
The menu that opens will allow you to take a screenshot or begin a screen recording. You also have the option to capture an area that you choose, capture the entire screen or capture a window.

What is Kiosk Mode?
What is Kiosk Mode?
Kiosk Mode is a special way your Chromebook can be set up to run just one app—like a testing program—without letting you access anything else.
When your Chromebook is in Kiosk Mode:
You can’t use other apps, websites, or tools.
You’re locked into the program until it's finished or closed by your teacher or admin.
It’s often used for state testing or secure assessments. (Pear Assessment, DRC, Bluebook, etc).

Do not sign in to your Chromebook.
When your Chromebook is in Kiosk Mode, you’ll access the app before logging in.You will see the waffle/9 dots app icon on the bottom left side of the screen. Click this icon.
Choose the secure testing app that you need.
Follow teachers directions to log in.
When you're done, exit the app the by holding down the power button and clicking sign out. This will return you to the Chromebook log in screen.
Kami
Kami
Kami is a digital tool that lets you open, edit, and mark up PDFs and other documents right on your Chromebook. It works directly in your browser and is a great way to complete assignments, take notes, or give feedback.
Make sure that you log into Kami by clicking "Continue with Google". This will give you access to the premium version of Kami.

Through ClassLink LaunchPad – just click the Kami icon to get started.
In Google Drive or Google Classroom – open a PDF or document and choose “Open with Kami.”
