5th/6th Grade ELA

Welcome to our 5th/6th grade ELA website. I hope you will find this website useful, as you navigate 6th grade ELA. Students can expect to have nightly homework, so please frequently check back to see updates concerning homework.

A little background about me. I love reading and books. I love the power that learning alongside gives you as readers. I also love writing and the creativity that comes along with telling stories. As an educator, my job is to help students find the joy as readers, writers and creative thinkers.

This is my 16th year in education. For 11 years, I taught 6th grade and 8th grade ELA at the junior high school level. For two years, I worked as a dean of students, and now I have the distinct pleasure of beginning my third year as a principal, and second year as an ELA teacher in Georgetown. Kids in Georgetown really know how to read and families really know how to support that habit at home.

I hope you will find some helpful information along the way. Thank you for supporting your child's learning this year.

Enjoy!
