Free day with the family of the Dutch students
DAY 3
Beach research Hoek van Holland. The goal of this activity is twofold:
1- Join a sustainable fishing activity to observe the quality of the sea and the fauna that can be found. This was done with the help of the company:
2.- Collection of microplastics on the beach.
DAY 4
Trip to Rotterdam. Stroll in the city and pick up microplastics.
During the activity, the students worked in groups with their peers to organise waste collection drives. In this way, they observed urban pollution and participated in the clean-up. This enabled them to acquire empirical knowledge and fostered supportive attitudes towards SDG 14. Then, they gathered their observation and discussed about them.
DAY 5
Microplastics lesson at school + group work
The students attended a lecture on microplastics: their origin, causes and consequences and were encouraged to promote an awareness campaign to minimise the use of plastics.
They worked in mixed teams at school participating in the following tasks:
Selection of microplastics
Creation of videos, posters and presentations for June 8th
Creation of the common result webpage(Google site
DAY 6
Trip to Amsterdam. Stroll around the canals to take pictures of microplastics.
Afternoon:
The students gathered in teams to finish the tasks started in activity 3 and presented their outcomes to the rest of the teams and the teachers.
DAY 7
Working at school. Presentations showing the results of the groups. Basque students depart from Massluis to Zarautz
