An hour from the AUNE campus in Keene, NH, this setting provides a retreat atmosphere complete with housing on campus (typically only for first year students, but exceptions are being made this year) and a dining hall which serves delicious, healthy cuisine and a space for community gathering.
The High School Teacher Training program offered through Center for Anthroposophy holds classes simultaneously in this location, and a lively atmosphere of over a hundred faculty and students blossoms on “the hill” each summer.
Residencies begin with events including advising sessions and an opening ceremony. Classes throughout the residencies run roughly from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, including most weekend days. An all-community meeting takes place each Thursday evening.
The residency closes Sunday of the final week with classes, advising sessions and a closing ceremony.
Residency dates for entering students are July 12-27, 2025.
Finishers will attend residency July 6-27, 2025.
Classes during the summer residency occur at Pine Hill School and High Mowing School in Wilton, NH. (About an hour away from Keene).
The two campuses are across the street from one another, with a long driveway separating the two. You will need to travel between the campuses. Driving between the two campuses may be most efficient, but for those who choose to walk, the campuses are about .6 miles apart, or a 12-15 minute walk. At this time, there is no shuttle between campuses. Please take this into account when planning your stay. Should you have questions or concerns about accessibility, please contact Tiffany Mathews (note, only one "t" in "Mathews") at AUNE. (e: tmathews@antioch.edu)
The High Mowing campus is located at 222 Isaac Frye Highway, Wilton NH 03086.
The Pine Hill campus is located at 77 Pine Hill Drive, Wilton, NH 03086
Dorm rooms on the High Mowing campus are available for students on a first-come, first-served basis through Center for Anthroposophy. Second and third year students are usually not guaranteed placement in the dorms, but exceptions are being made for this year as we return for the first time in three years. Please note that we have experienced a trusting community environment, and the dorm room doors do not have locks.
Our colleagues at the Franklin Pierce University (FPU) in Rindge, NH open up their Lakeview Town Homes facility to our summer students and faculty. FPU is approximately 24 miles from our High Mowing / Pine Hill campus or about a 35 minute drive.
Some students find housing through Airbnb. A Housing Options list is also compiled by Center for Anthroposophy and updated annually for those staying off campus. This list outlines housing that may be available in private homes our community offers for rent. Many of these off-campus options require a car.
All students are eligible for meal plans through the High Mowing dining hall. Breakfast, lunch & dinner is served on campus Monday-Friday, with the exception of an opening Sunday dinner & final Saturday breakfast and festive lunch.
There are extremely minimal food preparation or storage facilities in the dorms. Students staying in the dorms purchase a meal plan. Lunch times are especially important gathering times for students and faculty. By purchasing a lunch plan, you will have the opportunity to easily take part in both formal and informal gatherings in the dining hall during lunch.
