Expectations
To facilitate a successful internship experience, which benefits both the student and the internship site, we do our best to clearly communicate the expectations and needs of all parties.
Student Intern
Supervisor
Supervision
Attend all supervision meetings. Arrive prepared to discuss clients, ask questions, and take notes. Integrate supervisory feedback. Accept feedback non-defensively. Be open and honest about all client topics, concerns, and needs.
Provide the intern with one hour per week of individual supervision (one-on-one or two supervisees to one supervisor). Give clear, honest feedback. Provide guidance on ethical and legal topics. Support the intern’s professional development.

Supervision Assist
Complete hours logs weekly, accurately reflecting your time with clients and other site activities.
Sign hours logs regularly. Complete a quarterly evaluation of the student (found under the "Evaluations" tab). Review this evaluation with the student.
Observations
With informed consent, record at least 12 sessions (please see clinical handbooks for specific program requirements for art and drama) and present videos to supervisor for feedback
Watch session recordings and provide feedback on skill development, using the observation form in Supervision Assist. If needed, provide live supervision or co-counseling to facilitate feedback and development.
Hours
Complete 600 hours on site, with 300 direct client contact hours (please see clinical handbooks for specific program requirements for art and drama). Complete 50 hours of individual supervision.
Provide the intern with a caseload of 8-10 clients per week, to facilitate 300 hours of direct client contact. Work with the intern to ensure that they have enough clients, without becoming too overloaded to focus on learning.
Case Consultation and Coordination with Faculty
Attend all case consultation classes at Antioch, communicating openly with faculty. Facilitate a meeting between the instructor, site supervisor, and intern once per quarter, to discuss progress, questions, and needs.
Accommodate a schedule of the intern attending class on Fridays. Utilize the case consultation instructor as needed to discuss concerns. Meet with the instructor and intern once per quarter, to discuss progress, questions, and needs.
Ethics, Practice, and Disposition Issues
Follow all ethical guidelines, laws, organization policies, and school policies. Bring questions to faculty and supervisor immediately. Conduct oneself with honesty, integrity, and a focus on the wellbeing of clients. Maintain liability insurance through professional association at all times.
Provide coaching and direction on ethical codes, laws, and policies. Provide clear instructions to interns on how to meet expectations. Contact the case consultation instructor immediately if a concern arises. Work with Antioch if disciplinary actions or remediation must occur.
