Arranging an Appointment
The Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 allows for the treatment of animals by physiotherapy, osteopathy and chiropractic on the proviso that the animal has been seen by a veterinary surgeon who has diagnosed the condition (where applicable) and who gives his or her consent for the therapist to provide treatment under his or her direction.
Written consent from your Veterinary Surgeon will therefore need to be provided on one of our referral forms in advance of your appointment. You can download the appropriate consent form below and forward this to your vet via email, fax or post. After your appointment, we will provide your vet with a report outlining our assessment and the treatment provided/prescribed; by working in conjunction with your vet and other health professionals, you can be assured of an holistic approach to healthcare for your pet.
To request an appointment, fill in an appointment request form, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07817 772227, and we will contact you as soon as possible to arrange a mutually convenient time.
Please allow 1.5-2 hours for initial equine assessment and treatment, and 1-1.5 hours for equine reassessments. For canine/feline appointments, please allow 1-1.5 hours for initial assessment and treatment and 0.75-1 hour for follow-up appointments.
Your pet will need to be clean and dry for assessment and treatment and a safe, calm environment appropriate for treatment will need to be provided. For dogs, this means a room with a level surface - either the floor or an appropriate table - and appropriate padding so that it is comfortable for them to lie down. Gait assessment may be performed outdoors if it is safe to do so. For horses, this will usually mean a stable with a non-slip level surface. An appropriate hard surface for trot-up is desirable. Horses will only be assessed on the lunge/under saddle if it is appropriate and the facilities available make it safe to do so.
All fees are due at the time of treatment and are payable via cash or cheque. Please see our prices page for further information. Please be aware that visit fees will be charged in addition to consultation fees, and these will depend upon your location and the number of animals being treated at the same site. Area visits may be arranged according to demand and will attract a reduced/zero visit fee, depending upon numbers. We will endeavour to publish details of Area visits on Ani-Motionvp.co.uk or on the Ani-MotionVP facebook page as far in advance as possible.
Many insurance policies provide cover for veterinary physiotherapy for a diagnosed insured condition. Please contact your insurance provider for further clarification.
