The Anglo Spectator, on behalf of the Student Journalism Committee at Colegio Anglo Colombiano, believes that student interests must be constantly met and addressed, which consequently outlines the need for there to be academic initiatives that further allow students to participate in activities that cater to their interests. Therefore, the Spectator presents itself as both an environment to foster the creativity of young journalists as well as a beacon of information and entertainment. Its members have realized the lack of transparency present in several school activities, which thus leads to a disconnect between the information that should be available to all students and the information that is accessible. There also exists a need to allow students to display their creative works, whether these be centered around the sciences or consist of a visual display, both for their personal acknowledgment and to enrichen the talented culture of our community. Finally, students should be provided with as many opportunities as necessary to foster their development and intellect, hence the required space for those interested in writing, photography, visual media, and journalism.
The Student Journalism Committee wishes to fulfill its mission of providing the school with information, entertainment, and unity via the creation of a common symbol under which all students can feel represented; the Anglo Spector, whose vision is a school that can proudly declare itself to represent the voice of each and every one of its students.
To be true to our school motto: gentes moresque docendo iugnumus. Bringing people and cultures together through education.
Welcome to the Anglo Spectator.
