Meet your School Counselor!

My name is Ms. Stewart and I am so excited to guide you through your journey to post-secondary readiness! My goal is to provide support for your achievement and success throughout your high school years. This is my first year as a high school counselor. I'm from a small East Texan town, but enjoy living in the big city! I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. In my free time, I love taking road trips, going fishing & kayaking, and spending time with my family and friends.

Attendance

How many tardies equals one absence?

Three tardies equals one absence, so please make sure that you are prompt to each class period.

How many absences are needed in order to lose attendance credit?

Since our campus uses an A-day and B-day block schedule, you can only miss 4 class periods until you lose attendance credit.

Grading

What happens if I do not pass a class?

You will have an opportunity to attend the summer school program or retake the course during your next school year.

What grade do I need to earn in order to pass a class?

Just like in middle school, you are required to earn a 70 or above to pass.

What is the tutoring lab?

The tutoring lab is an after-school program geared to help students in their academic classes. There are teachers available in the library from 4:00pm - 5:30pm to assist in many subject areas. Another service that is offered is credit restoration. If you lose attendance credit in any class, you can attend the tutoring lab to earn that credit back.
