This article is about the severity of wounds that the body can take on. Since most of the wounds in my game are puncture wounds, I figured that this could be my main source. Using this source, I will conduct interviews at both my hometown hospital and at hospitals here in Angelo. This will help me better understand and measure the severity and overall survivability of the wounds that are seen in the game.

This article views the mental toll that major injuries can have on the body. The characters in the game are constantly receiving fatal injuries. Even when they heal, the memory persists, and so does the knowledge of that pain. I feel that this knowledge will allow me to better analyze and understand the game on a deeper level.

This video documentary tells the reader everything they would need to know about depression. Living through what these “survivors” live through daily would cause great amounts of depression. Constantly having your life at risk with an end nowhere in sight is discouraging to say the least. I believe that this video will help me better apply this disease to the topic at hand.
Pietrangelo, A. (2022, September 22). Adrenaline rush: Symptoms, causes, at night, and anxiety. Healthline. https://www.healthline.com/health/adrenaline-rush#managing-adrenaline
This article is filled with information regarding adrenaline. Adrenaline is a huge part of what makes Dead By Daylight feasible. Without the understanding of how adrenaline works, there would be no logical answer for how these survivors lasted so long with such substantial injuries. This article will help me apply real world knowledge to what we see in the game and provide an explanation for many of the feats within it.
YouTube. (2022). ER Doctor REACTS to Dead By Daylight. YouTube. Retrieved November 14, 2023, from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9ON-oRAvbc.
This video allows the viewer to hear firsthand accounts from a doctor the severity and survivability of several of the most infamous injuries available in game. This doctor has a basic understanding of the game, as well as a grasp on video games as a whole. He works in the ER and has firsthand accountability when it comes to situations such as this one. I feel that his opinion matters greatly in my project and gives me an outlier source to line up with my own interviews.
Payne, Marlin. Interview, Conducted by Lane Hale. November 22nd, 2023
While at home over the Thanksgiving break, I visited the hospital where my mother works and interviewed Dr. Marlin Payne, a veteran who became a trauma doctor in the ER roughly 30 years ago, and asked for his take on the game. This gives me firsthand information and a better basis to go off of for my website. Because articles are great, but nothing beats information straight from the source.
