First Qualification 5-year-olds

For the PRE team, the day began with the class for 5-year-old horses. First in the arena was Silvia Hernando in the saddle of Solano de YE, owned by Yeguada Echandi and bred by Yeguada RS. This pair delivered a well-presented routine that earned them a 74.200% average. Their highest score was for future potential (7.6), as well as for the correctness of the trot and canter.

An hour later, it was Juan de Dios Ramirez who entered the arena riding Garboso CA, owned by Transportes La Peña de Bejar. The pair completed a solid performance to achieve an average of 74.200%. Their highest scores were for future potential (7.6) and for submission.

At 1:43 p.m., it was Manuel Pérez’s turn with Quinto FG, owned by Juan Perez Montiel and bred by Ganaderia Guerrero. The pair offered a well-presented performance, which earned them a score of 73.000%. The highest marks were for future potential and the canter (7.5).

Guillermo Garcia concluded the first block of the morning session with Becquer de Susaeta, owned by Yeguada Susaeta. Unfortunately, we were unable to see the pair compete, as the horse’s owner, rider, national team coach, veterinarian, and the ANCCE technical staff, prioritizing the stallion’s well-being at all times, decided to withdraw him. This is yet another example of the commitment and responsibility that characterize the team.

Small Final 6-year-olds

For Team PRE, the second half of the day began at 3:55 p.m. with the Small Final for 6-year-olds. Secretario JU IV, Lisonjero de Vida, and Utopia KP returned to the main arena once again to compete in a commented event, where the judges explained and justified their assessment of each movement after the presentation.

The first in the arena was Secretario JU IV, owned by Jesus Ubeda Roncero and ridden by Alejandro Sanchez del Barco. The pair offered a very solid performance, to be one of the most standout of the day. At their evaluation, the judges highlighted the horse’s trot (8.5), submission (8.0), and future potential. With a final average of 78.000%, the pair obtained the team’s highest score so far. On the verge of qualifying for the Big Final, the pair performed a highly commendable routine, thus earning seventh place on the roster.

Less than half an hour later, Diego Gonzalez returned to the arena riding Lisonjero de Vida, owned by Yeguada Gran Vida and bred by Villanueva Dacasa. The pair completed a performance that earned a final average of 71.800%. The judges highlighted the walk as the best of the three gaits (7.5), as well as the horse’s future potential, which was also rated at 7.5.

The day concluded on a bittersweet note for the team, as Francisco Gil and Utopia KP, owned by Yeguada La Angostura, were eliminated midway during the competition, unexpectedly bringing their participation at this year’s championship to a close.
