Day 3 at the 2026 Dressage World Breeding Championships for Young Horses
Of the PRE Team members, Solano de YE offered the best performance
Today’s program at the prestigious World Mecca for Young Horses featured the premiere of 7-year-olds and the Small Final for 5-year-olds.
First Qualification 7-year-olds
In the 7-year-old class—one with double scores noting one for paces and another for the technique implemented—Maestro DVR II, ridden by Juan de Dios Ramirez and owned by Yeguada Vilariño, kicked off the day’s competition. At their premiere, the pair was particularly outstanding at walk, thanks to a relaxed execution and the precision of the four beats. The presentation concluded with a 63.554% average.
Just after noon, it was time for Francisco Gil and Toronto KP, owned by Yeguada La Angostura, to prove their worth. This time, the pair offered a test in which their most impressive pace was an active walk, collection (7.5) and submission. They concluded their performance with an average of 68.132%.
They were followed by lady rider, Alba Abollo holding the reins of Koko de Paraiso, owned by Paraiso. The pair performed a test with an impressive canter, which the judges appreciated (7.5). Moreover, the pair showed a promising future, thus earning an average of 67.606%.
The last pair to compete in the 7-year-old group was Raul Arcos and Verdi CAD, owned by Yeguada Mendoza “Cadema”. They were the final touch for the team’s participation thanks to a well-executed test. The pair’s trot, canter, and future potential were particularly impressive. For these aspects, they earned a score of 7.0, thus concluding their performance with a final average of 65.863%.
Small Final – 5-year-olds
At 7:55 pm, the 5-year-old pairs entered the competition arena once again. The first was Quinto FG, ridden by Juan Perez and owned by Juan Perez Montiel. The pair delivered a well-executed test, to earn an average of 72.200%. They had particularly strong scores for their canter (7.6) as well as for future potential.
Silvia Hernando followed suit. She entered the arena with Solano de YE, owned by Yeguada Echandi ESP and bred by Yeguada RS. Thanks to a solid performance, the pair earned the team’s best average of the day with 72.800%. Their strong point was the trot, which earned a 7.5, in addition to receiving a good score for future potential.
Juan de Dios Ramirez in the saddle of Garboso CA, owned by Transportes La Peña de Bejar was the last member of the PRE Team to compete for the day. It was a bittersweet ending for the team, as the pair was eliminated. This was an unexpected end for their participation at the 2026 championship.
