Week August 7-11, 2023
I am so excited for the 2023-2024 school year!
We have so many fun things planned, and I am thrilled to have your child again in my Computer Class. Looking forward to seeing your child.
This week:
Students will learn the routines of coming to Computer Class.(Rules)
-Coming in the classroom.
-Tour where the bathrooms are.
-Assign seats.
-Introduction to Chromebooks.
Week 2 August 14-18, 2023
We will go over the alphabet letters naming them and making sounds.
They will use AbcYa:
Talk to Me Alphabet is a fun activity for young children learning letter names and sounds. Use either the keys on your keyboard or tap on a letter to hear the letter name or letter sound! You can also switch the letter layout between alphabetical order and QWERTY keyboard.
Week 3 August 21-25. 2023
This week we will continue reviewing the letters on the keyboard. They will have each a copy of a Chromebook keyboard.
They will use AbcYa! Keyboarding Zoo. Keyboarding Zoo is a fun and educational activity to help early elementary age students learn the keyboard. Children are encouraged to use their index or pointer fingers to match letters on the screen to their keyboards. Uppercase letters, numbers and symbols are coming soon!
Week Sept 4-8, 2023
Kids click and drag the different toppings to make a pizza! Students learn and practice valuable mouse manipulation techniques while clicking and dragging. Fun for children of all ages.
Week 8 Sept.25-29, 2023
Show students through a projector how to find the game.
Monster Mansion Matching Numbers
Model how to play the game.
Monster Mansion Match - Number Match is a fun matching game for kids to practice numbers and counting. Click on the windows of the Monster Mansion to reveal the friendly monsters inside and match the numbers and objects. Players can compare objects to numbers or objects to objects. They can also choose to show the cards or play by memory. Numbers are read aloud to reinforce understanding.
Week October 16-20, 2023
Students will go to their Chrome Books and will be guided on how to log in to Google.
Steps:
Find the Little man at the bottom of the screen and click it.
Type Google and then press the enter key.
Show the search bar.
Click on it.
Type something they want to search for.
Show the ENTER KEY.
Press it.
Google is a search engine.
We can find information.
We can find pictures.
Show on projector how it is done.
Ask students what they want to look for.
Type on search bar.
Show outcome.
Week 12 October 23-27, 2023
This week we will continue working with Google search. Students will find pictures about Halloween and will print them.
Week November 6-10, 2023
Students will use desktop computers.They will be coding.
Students need to drag the block to the target, arrange blocks to form an image.
Week November13-17, 2023
This week students will be working with coding, specifically Tynker. They are in charge to program the puppy to get home by using coding to avoid any obstacle.
Week Nov.20-24, 2023
This is a short week, I will only see 1 kindergarten section due to Thanksgiving Holiday.
Students will work independently, using Abcya.com
They will choose any game in Abcya.com.
This will help them review how to follow instructions.
November 27- December 1, 2023
Students will use desktop computers. They will be using Code Monkey.
Students must complete Sequencing to unlock Loops.
