This week, our 2nd grade students are taking their typing skills to the next level with Alpha Quick on Room Recess! Students will challenge themselves in a fast-paced game that tests letter recognition, keyboard layout knowledge, and typing speed. It’s time to put those finger placement skills to the test and set new personal bests! 

This week, our 2nd graders will practice using all the rows of the keyboard while playing Typing Rocket Jr. from ABCYa. They will try to earn the highest score possible by typing quickly and accurately — without looking at the keyboard! Their goal is to show how much their typing skills have improved! 

Our 2nd grade students will use ABCya Story Maker to create a special project where they will draw the national flag, write the pledge to the flag, and decorate their flag with a creative landscape. This activity allows them to combine art, writing, and patriotic values while practicing their digital skills in a fun way.

This week in Computer class, 2nd graders will remember how to log in and log out of their Chromebooks safely. We will explore the Google apps grid to discover the different tools available, and practice using Google Drive to save and organize our work. Get ready to become more independent and responsible digital learners!
