Provincial Master's Message

Sisters and Brothers, Sorores and Fraters;

Have you ever considered what really happens when a group of people come together for a common purpose? Call it communing, discussing, worshiping, brainstorming, or whatever, but something magic happens when “….two or more gather……”

We each possess an energy that we consider quite our own – our individuality, our personality, our way of thinking, our ideas – and we consider this energy self-contained within our own being. This is a powerful energy that makes our life “ours”. It dictates the choices we make throughout life, mundane and spiritual. It drives our creativity and determines how we affect the world around us.

Now, what happens when two individuals come together and blend their energies for a common purpose? I’m sure you have experienced the inspiration that comes when you bounce your ideas off of someone and they share their interpretation of your ideas. These ideas expand in all directions, become larger, become refined, and sometimes, generate whole new ideas that are better, more expansive, than the original. This is the magic of sharing.

The Master Jesus is quoted in Matthew 18:20, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” I suspect that He could have been referring to His creative nature that is incorporated into the group and that when people come together for a common purpose this additional element is added that amplifies the process. In other words “the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts.”

If we consider that we all share one big soul and that we are all connected at this very basic level, we might come up with an explanation of this phenomenon. Perhaps when we let down our individual barriers and share a portion of ourselves in discussion and communing, we are letting not only the wisdom of the other person or persons into our sphere of consciousness but also the wisdom of all of humanity and of the Divine itself, as in the consciousness of the Master Jesus.

Perhaps this is the lesson to be learned from this marvelous manifestation: we all benefit when we allow ourselves to open freely to the inspiration of the minute and to let the ideas of others move us to even higher understandings.

Sisters and brothers, sorores and fraters, we are privileged in our AMORC and TMO affiliated bodies to be able to gather and discuss, to inspire and be inspired, by our fellow members. Let us be thankful for the opportunity to experience and benefit from this Divine magic.

May you ever dwell in the Eternal Light of Divine Wisdom!
