Outgoing Grand Councilor's Message

Dear Sorors and Fraters,

This year is my 50th year as a member of AMORC a year personally and significantly marked by the last months of my period of service as the Grand Councilor for the Colorado Region of our Order. I thank you all for this rare and illuminating opportunity. As Grand Councilor Hallet so often says “Service is its own reward.”

Now I join you in our collective opportunity to find a new way to live in the world-wide presence of the corona virus, and new demands on our evolutionary adaptability, flexibility, compassion and ability to love above all else, all our call to a new level of adaptability and flexibility, an initiatic cycle that requires new depth and breadth of our mystical lives. It is a call to change and evolve, for, as Harvey Spencer Lewis wrote in the Rosicrucian Manual, assisting evolution in the here and now of earthly existence is the real purpose of our Order.

True evolutionary progress necessitates and unveils new levels of consciousness and insight. Key to our understanding this progress is the notion of transcendence. Each new level of consciousness transcends the old, transcends but does not forget. It includes the previous level and knows and feels its challenges, limitations and lessons. The Rosicrucian Hierarchy uses that knowledge to aid human kind and life on Earth for Hierarchy has initiated and completed so many grades of study and birthed their various levels of accompanying wisdom. If your studies are sincere, you are consciously or unconsciously being drawn towards service with the masters of that Hierarchy. Ours is a Hierarchy of knowledge and service, handmaidens to all evolution in general and mystical evolution in particular. I therefore invite and extoll you to hear that evolutionary call to service of humanity in every way you can, in all the responsibilities of citizenship and mystical citizenship. Above all read and study your monographs and then, as the inner voice calls, read them again. I cannot tell you the number of members who have re-read their monographs and shared, “It was like I never read them before,” a realization prompted not only by the functioning of memory as we commonly know it but also by the new level of consciousness which shines through the sequence of personal evolution.

Hierarchy work subtly, less so with the illumined evolution of the soul personality as it progresses. Now, more than ever before, we need an increased attunement with their depth, breadth and ability to aid the evolution of humanity. It is our moment, it is our evolutionary opportunity, and demand, Change has ever been a constant in the physical world. Now is our time to prepare and study to serve amidst a time of increased change on our dear home planet.

The Light of unlimited creative service is first on our altar. Let it be first in your heart.
