Greetings, Fratres, Sorores and Friends of AMORC!
This year has so far presented many challenges to us as communities, mystics, and Rosicrucians. In my last message, I expressed my gratitude at being associated with an organization that faces challenges with commitment to the universal Principles that can guide one through any challenge to emerge transformed in a positive way. I hope that these Principles also greatly benefit you personally.
The Rosicrucian Order as a physical organization continues to thrive as a result of the changes that 2020 has encouraged us to make. Grand Lodge reports continued growth in nearly every Region, with a strong positive response to AMORC’s “online presence” initiative (via the social media platforms Facebook, Twitter, Meetup, and YouTube, as well as the rosicrucian.org webpage). Most, if not all, Regions now hold online meetings during this time when physical gatherings are restricted by health officials. Several Affiliated Bodies (AB’s) in the United States have resumed meetings (with appropriate precautions against infection), for those members who wish to participate in AB activities. Here in Colorado, the officers of Mountain Rose Pronaos have developed guidelines (which meet or exceed all health department requirements) to resume meetings starting in October. Pikes Peak Atrium (PPA) also hopes to resume activities very soon, when their landlord determines that it is safe for group activities to resume in the space that PPA rents.
It may seem strange to think of Prosperity at a time when most people and organizations devote their energy to survival. I do not mean to suggest that things are easy, and my heart aches for those who suffer mightily as they struggle to provide for themselves and their loved ones. But from a mystical point of view, we can also view these challenges as part of the catharsis that occurs during an initiatic process, when the soul feels fear and doubt. A sort of “dark night” before the return of Light with the dawn, when the soul emerges transformed and filled with courage, hope, and inspiration.
Even in the darkest hours of one’s life, when survival is (rightfully) the highest priority, there remain moments when thoughts of fear and doubt occupy the mind but provide no useful purpose. Can these moments be put to better use? A mystic develops the mental discipline to recognize these moments for what they are, and can with mindfulness and clarity set them aside, even if only for a brief period, to commune with the Cosmic. The Rosicrucian teachings reveal that our natural condition is one of harmony with the universe; a condition of health, peace, and prosperity. The Cosmic is unlimited in its ability to provide what we need to achieve this condition. If we cast aside some of the time we spend occupied with fear and doubt and instead, for a few minutes each day, attune with the Cosmic and visualize ourselves in harmony and prosperity, we will attract remarkable things into our lives.
So perhaps it is not so strange to think of Prosperity during difficult times. Rather, it may be necessary! Consider what “Prosperity” really means. Many people think of it as material wealth, but is wealth not simply a symbol that certain needs can be met without struggle? Maybe a focus on those underlying material needs would more readily attract them. It’s also important to not confuse “needs” with “wants”. And what of the qualities which no amount of material wealth can provide, such as peace and comfort and love? Maybe a focus on true spiritual and material needs provides a simpler and more direct link to the Prosperity which the Cosmic is ready to provide.
May the Cosmic bless you with great prosperity!
