Our Dual Nature
The idea that all things are dual in nature is a fundamental of Rosicrucian thought. We are dual beings consisting of body and soul. The mystic learns to experience both sides of this dual nature. Clearly, if we only use half of our dual nature we will only experience half of life.
Every lesson of our monographs brings us a step closer to experiencing the totality of life. We each experience duality in our own unique way. In general, however, we first become aware that there is another aspect of life as we experience the first stirring of the inner self face-to-face with our reflection in the mirror of our sanctum.
Later we discover the psychic powers at the command of the inner self and that we can communicate with others at a distance. Then we become aware that all life is connected when we discover that even plants and animals respond to our psychic activity. Ultimately, if we persist in our studies, we learn to experience a true condition of partnership with the inner self and the phrase, "mastery of life" begins to have a meaning deeper than we ever anticipated.
These things are but a thousand tiny miracles that, individually, go unobserved by passers-by. For us, they raise our consciousness to an awareness of the unity of all being and the inherent beauty of all-that-is. They become our joyous legacy to the world, because the small acts of service that we do for others help to raise the consciousness of all.
Your humble servant,
Ed Elton
