Greetings from all points of the triangle!
I awoke this morning with an unusual restlessness, with ideas crowding into consciousness more rapidly than could be counted. Leading them all was the notion of the Soul, the energy that pervades everything visible and invisible in our universe. Driven to my sanctum by this powerful presence I asked the Soul to guide and inform me and, of course it did.
The Rosicrucian Manual notes “that there is but one Living Soul of the universe and that is the Soul of God, the living Vital Consciousness of God.. It never ceases to be part of the universal soul. Within each living being there is this universal soul.”
The Rosicrucian studies clearly separate the Soul resident in each of us from the personality through which it works and whose only aspiration should be to cooperate with Soul and the consequent transformation and transmutation of the psychic and physical planet upon which we live. But remember that transformation can never be random. That transformation is quite naturally in harmony with the consciousness and laws of the soul.
Reflect with me for but a few moments on the first law of Rosicrucian Ontology, “God breathed forth into the dust of the Earth and behold man became a living soul." In other words, that human being became animated by the consciousness of God, the highest form of consciousness. This bond is carried over into English from the Latin into inspire, literally to take in a breath, as was done by the first human who realized a personal connection with the divine but only at the level of a particular consciousness, a consciousness that needed to evolve, literally to roll out all the potential inherent in the great omnipresent power of the Soul. If this is true, evolution is imparted with each inspiration or each breath that we take as inspires us to move forward in our expression of the Soul.
We are doing just that as the holiday season, the time of the solstice, the rebirth, of light, the time in which many celebrate the coming of the Christ spirit , and the beginning of the year-long solar cycle that creates the seasons.
The history of this process is most revealing even at its most obvious and basic level. These first cycles manifest through the seasons and their planting cycles. These cycles allowed humanity to settle in a place, have a more continuous supply of food and begin to specialize in the various arts and sciences. In turn, that movement gave rise to culture, a word derived from the Latin meaning literally to till the soil, to bring the wisdom of the Earth into the temple of the Soul, the human body. So why is there any lack of clarity in our world? In this holiday season, the words of the gospel of John emerge, “The light shineth in the darkness but the darkness comprehended it not.” The light of the Soul, the Light of the Divine Consciousness is not understood as clearly as it might be, hence the turmoil that accompanies many an incarnation.
Here we find this season a true blessing. During this holiday season, the Soul, through its long and varied experience, remembers and feels its bond with the physical world all the more acutely. The outer self is aware of this unique vibration as the psychic body is more keenly attuned with the Soul and can very easily allow itself to cooperate both with this influx of inspiration and the incarnation of our living physical temple of the human body. It is therefore a most ideal time to meditate and attune with the Soul, the Divine Consciousness of the universe.
May you take more time to do just that and find ever greater Peace Profound in this most mystically advantageous time of year.
With all best wishes to each of you,
John Fowler
