Dear Fratres and Sorores,
There is no doubt this has been a tumultuous year around the world. We, here in the northern hemisphere, are heading into the winter months. Days will be shorter and nights longer. The diminished sunlight will have an effect on our bodies and our moods. We will bundle up in warmer clothing as we celebrate our holiday season with family and friends. Those who can will turn up our thermostats to fend off the cold weather that is sure to come. In traditional cultures, this was a time for going within, passing on stories to a younger generation, repairing and revamping, and preparing inwardly for the inevitable return of spring.
This has been a year of significant changes, and many people’s lives have been thrown out of balance. They are unsure of the future, fearful of what it may hold for them and their loved ones. They may be feeling wounded from what has befallen them. They will be seeking solutions, paths, and answers that provide direction, comfort, and a way to regain control over their lives. Some, even, will be angry and look for ways to lash out to express that anger.
In these times, we as Rosicrucians, must turn within to our source of inspiration, love, and light, and rededicate ourselves to our grounding principles: that we are an expression of the Cosmic, and have access to wisdom, inspiration, hope, and of course Light, Life, and Love. We must question ourselves and our assumptions to ensure that we are operating from a higher frequency, and working for a more loving, positive world. When darkness comes, we must shine brighter and clearer to reflect and transmit the Cosmic Light, so that others can find their way out of the darkness to a higher vibration.
As an old folk song says: “Keep your eyes on the prize, hold on.”
Peace, Profound
