Reading/Writing

During this school year we explored many genres of writing such as narrative, informational, how-to, and opinion writing. Students were engaged in the variety of genres utilizing the Savvas MyView curriculum. For the culminating project for the opinion writing unit students utilized Book Creator to publish their opinion writing pieces. Student wrote across a variety of topics including Sonic the Hedgehog, Target, Pizza, and Snow Globes. 

Students did a wonderful job with this project. They were very excited to make their own creations utilizing Book Creator. They enjoyed selecting pictures as well changing the fonts and colors of their text. I enjoyed watching all students become engaged in the writing process once technology was incorporated, especially my learners that are sometimes hesitant to participate during writing lessons.
