Why:
As I started experimenting, I came across stars, lines, and the golden ratio. The path I decided to follow mainly focuses on organic traces that "felt right" to make. The canvas served as an outlet to do what was most natural and intuitive at the moment. As I kept going, the vision of a space landscape started to form, and I immediately followed through with it. The color scheme and different overlapping elements are meant to convey the infinity of the universe, a concept that has always fascinated me. Humankind cannot understand an idea like that of a never-ending world, which is exactly why we should keep depicting it as it comes to our imaginations.
Section 2: Connect
Cultural, historical, and artistic influences with critical evaluation.

The contrasting colors and bold lines make me think of an album cover or a movie poster. It's bold yet simple.

Section 3: Investigate
The golden ratio stands out to me because I am unusually passionate about it. I think its another phenomenon that we cannot fully explain (or that I cannot fully understand). It appears everywhere, from a shell at the beach to the shape of a fetus growing inside the womb. That's amazing to me; it feels like the closest we have to divine intervention.
Section 4: Create
Visual documentation of steps of creation
Section 5: Communicate
Evaluate, Reflect, and Possible Revisions of Final Work
Even though I really like my end result, I would change the red background to leave the past layers more visible. After day 3, one cannot see the obliteration of some of the elements, which could have looked cool if emphasized and repeated. Regarding the color scheme, I'm not convinced whether I should have added a pop of another color, like, for example, yellow, or kept the uniformity that I have. I wonder how I could have highlighted the golden ratio and made it the center of my piece. It occurs to me that I could have subtly positioned the different elements in a spiral-like shape. I really do like the lines that go across and behind the stars on the top left corner. I consider it a successful way to portray layers, but I do wish I had continued that line and connected it to the gray one that crosses the bottom half. Another element I really enjoyed was creating rough circles with my brush, experimenting with how I could change their symmetry and size with just one tool and small variations. This project felt like a great start to the year, because it reintroduced me to creating and experimentation. I'm really happy I allowed myslef to follow my instincts.
