Section 1: Inquiry Question and Concept Exploration
Explanation of the guiding question or concept
How can combining different materials and personal objects in a still life communicate layers of meaning about who I am?
Section 2: Connections
Cultural, historical, and artistic influences with critical evaluation.
Janet Fish is an American still life artist known for her vibrant paintings of everyday objects like fruit, glass, and reflections. Her work stands out because she uses light, numerous details, and bold colors to make simple scenes feel lively and realistic. Janet Fish's art connects with me because I appreciate how she paints simple, everyday objects in a bright and interesting way. Her still life makes ordinary things look beautiful by drawing really well, particularly glass, which is shown in many paintings. Looking at her work makes me appreciate how small details can still be really cool.
Personal Connection
Chosen Picture
I chose this picture because I thought the composition of these different object would be interesting. Also I really like coloful things, so I thought this choice would match my idea on this project. No object has a deep meaning, but it'll be fun to draw them on a picture.

Section 6: Communicate and Reflect
Challenges, successes, and self-evaluation of how the artwork aligns with the inquiry question.
In this project, I had to create a still life painting using everyday objects. The goal was to use various materials to demonstrate each of the techniques we have practiced this year, including colored pencils, acrylic paint, and pencils. This was a very fun project because I got to experiment with all that I have learned and combine it with other materials in one paper. I think I did well on the final project, but I still think it could be a little cleaner, smoother, and better if I had used my time more effectively. I struggled with deadlines again, which I need to improve in terms of my organizational skills. However, overall, I think I did well. Now to respond to the following question: "How can combining different materials and personal objects in a still life communicate layers of meaning about who I am?" Combining materials and personal objects in a still life communicates layers of who I am because it involves being creative, choosing which objects to draw, and having full control over everything, as I could use any materials I wanted.
