Section 1: Inquiry Question and Concept Exploration
Explanation of the guiding question or concept
How can movement, intuition, and destruction be used as tools to uncover meaning and shape a more resolved abstract artwork?
How can I look at my piece in a way that will remind me of my childhood, as well as a goal to see visually the emotions I want to feel when I look at it? Colorful, playful way, with movement along the way. Bright colors contrasting against the darker ones, a reminder of a future and a past. (58 words)
Section 2: Connections
Cultural, historical, and artistic influences with critical evaluation.
Artist: Belinda Fireman
Artist. Emma Sung
Artist. Adriano Solari
(Photo was taken from my house, we have this painting at home)
I have never done abstract art before. I have never truly liked it either. But looking at this artists work, like Emma Sung (found art in visual arts foundation sites) Belinda Fireman (found artist in student example), and Adriano Solari (my uncle), my perspective of abstract art has completely changed. I love how different their artworks are, more colorful, vibrant, alive.
Section 3: Investigate
Visual evidence of material tests, alternate compositions, sketches.
For this artwork, I didn't plan much. I just started developing what I want to see and create at the start or even halfway through the process. After day 2, I was convinced I didn't want any more changes. Little did I know in that moment on forwards I decided my inquiry, my desire, my visual achievement at the end. After day 5, I just knew it was finished, but Ms. Shamburek asked me if I could see the artwork working with a chunk of color. So I tried it with her in a separate paper. I brought it outside and tried to see it implemented in different places in my art. Still, I was not convinced, so I left it the way I finished it before trying this technique. (168 words)

Section 6:
Evaluate, Reflect, and Possible Revisions of Final Work
Through self-reflection and feedback from classmates, I completed my first abstract art in a way that shows my emotions I want to feel and visualize every time I look at this piece. To the left, it is the feedback of my peers, who all loved the viewing of multiple colors, and how attention-grabbing the movement and the composition of this artwork were. This feedback helped me start with my visual idea of color movement. Looking at classmates' canvases, texture, volume, movement, and composition helped me progress from a dark-ish color blast to my finished piece, Starfall Clash. The name came from all the colors, like they just clashed and spread in different directions. But also from my childhood, where I used to have everything colorful. Every time I think of what I loved as a child, I immediately think of Star Wars. That's why the name includes star, and fall comes from the visual appearance of the clash of stars to spread, falling in different directions. (233 words)
