Between COVID and life-changes, the Tahoe Chapter went dark for a couple years. During this time, many people reached out to the chapter and received no response. Recently, Matt Dryden was asked to become the new Chapter Chair. He is working with other dedicated individuals to try to bring the chapter back! There are some significant hurdles in regaining access to all the accounts, and it takes extra time and effort to do things above board. But we are moving forward in every way we can. We dug up as many of those past contacts as we were able to, but if we missed you please reach out and reestablish communication. We look forward to talking with you!
No! While many of our members live in Tahoe, we have a lot of members who live throughout the surrounding areas. There are many great climbing areas in the Tahoe region, but we will not be focused on those alone. We will have events in the Basin, in the Reno area, and elsewhere.
There are many great options to get involved from volunteering to hanging out to share a beer. Please see our Participate Page for more specific information
Kindof. The Tahoe Chapter has social media accounts, but the passwords have been lost as previous social media managers have moved on. We are working with the American Alpine Club to regain access to those accounts. We hope to be active on social media again soon!
