I'm the resource specialist/special education teacher at Christa McAuliffe Elementary School for the Alvord Unified School District. I have a masters’ degree in special education from California State University, San Bernardino and a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Davis. I am also an official member of the Council for Exceptional Children, a national advocacy group for special education programs.

Previously, I taught middle school and elementary school in Moreno Valley and was also two years ago, a guest teacher for the district. For the last three years, I was the special day class teacher for Paige Middle School in La Quinta. I taught language arts, social studies, science,and math (along with technology and manners) to 27 amazing exceptional 6th, 7th and 8th graders before becoming a resource teacher to students at Palm Desert Middle School in Palm Desert.

Did I also mention that I worked for The Desert Sun? I was a reporter for two years covering the cities of La Quinta and Indio. No, I did not get free tickets to the Coachella Music Festival.

We're gonna have a great year as we brave the new world of Common Core and education in the 21st Century. And the physical school closures due to Covid-19 have now made this technology more important than ever for our students.
