The long term goals of having service be a part of the program is because it is placed on college apps, can be used for scholarships and awards, as well as recognition for service that can be placed on resumes and recognized at graduation. Another bonus is being able to have a letter of rec written from your supervisor used for a variety of different things from scholarships to certain college applications. If these letters and services come from a reputable source, it lends legitimacy to what you are trying to accomplish and has a place it is completely verified through the Innerview system.
The following is an example of where service is allowed and some things that are not considered service.
