Now that RECF has released their game manual yesterday, VEX has decided to pull all Field kits and Game Element kits from their store. Only teams who have a paid registration with Global Robotics & Science Foundation are currently allowed to purchase these items.
VEX is attempting to prevent RECF-affiliated teams from utilizing their products. This is extremely frustrating and creates a significant hurdle for new teams and/or casual teams, including many of our own. We are exploring our options and will provide an update as soon as possible.
VEX and RECF are no longer working together. We received an email from VEX stating that they are now partnering with another non-profit for future tournaments and events and stated that "RECF is no longer authorized to organize, administer, sanction, or represent VEX Robotics competitions in any capacity."
RECF responded in their own email that they will be holding their own VEX competition season that starts June 1. (This start has since been delayed to June 10.)
We are waiting on additional information and will communicate our plans as soon as we have this information. This website will also be updated soon with the new information as we receive it.

Dear Teams,
Effective immediately, the official platform for all VEX Robotics event registration, team management, and competition administration is: https://events.vex.com
While the web address has changed, this is still the familiar registration platform and experience you have used for years, now operating under the new VEX Robotics Events domain. Your event history, team data, and workflows are all intact. Please bookmark the new address and use it for all event activity going forward. It will serve as your primary hub for team registration, event management, and competition administration. Our team is standing by to assist with anything you need.
You may also be aware that RobotEvents.com, the platform previously used for VEX competition registration, is now redirecting to an RECF registration site. That redirect was not authorized by VEX Robotics. Please do not attempt to login with any previously used credentials, register teams or events, or submit any payments through RobotEvents.com or any RECF-controlled site. events.vex.com is the only authorized platform for VEX competition registration and administration.
Second, you may have seen a statement from RECF claiming that its VEX Robotics competition season will open June 1, 2026. We want to be unambiguous: that claim has no basis. RECF is not authorized by VEX Robotics to organize, administer, sanction, or represent VEX Robotics competitions in any capacity. Any event organized by RECF using VEX branding, VEX rules, or VEX game content is unauthorized. Participation in such events will not qualify teams for the VEX Robotics World Championship. The only path to the VEX Robotics World Championship runs through events sanctioned by VEX Robotics and administered in coordination with the Global Robotics and Science Foundation.
We have already heard from many of you, and we are grateful for your patience and your questions. To address what we are hearing most:
Your events are not in jeopardy. Signature Events, State and Regional Championships, leagues, and local tournaments will all continue. Your authorizations carry forward. If you are in active planning for an upcoming season event, keep going. We will be in direct contact with specifics shortly.
You will have a dedicated point of contact. Regional support is a priority for us and for the Global Robotics and Science Foundation. We will be communicating direct contact information to you very soon.
We recognize this situation creates noise and uncertainty that you should not have to deal with. Whatever dispute exists between VEX Robotics and RECF is ours to resolve, not yours. Our commitment to you is straightforward: we will not allow any of it to disrupt your events, your teams, or the students you serve. That mission does not pause.
Thank you for your patience, your trust, and your continued leadership in the VEX Robotics community. We are grateful for every one of you.
If you have any questions about these changes, please send an email to info@global-robotics.org.

Dear Coaches and Event Partners,
I am honored to introduce the Global Robotics & Science Foundation and to thank you for the extraordinary work you do for students, families, schools, and communities around the world.
The success of robotics competitions has always depended on people like you — coaches who invest in students, Event Partners who build local opportunities, volunteers who give their time, and community leaders who believe that young people deserve access to meaningful, real-world learning. Your work matters. It helps students develop the skills, confidence, purpose, and resilience they need to build thriving futures.
For nearly 20 years, the VEX Robotics team has worked behind the scenes to make these experiences possible — through game design, technology infrastructure, event systems, field support, product development, and the setup and execution of the VEX Robotics World Championship. That sustained investment has helped build one of the world’s most powerful robotics competition platforms.
As we move forward, the Global Robotics & Science Foundation is proud to serve as the officially authorized nonprofit partner for VEX Robotics and the exclusive competition pathway for teams seeking to qualify for the VEX Robotics World Championship.
We are excited for a strong competition season leading up to the 2027 VEX Robotics World Championship and look forward to working alongside educators, coaches, Event Partners, volunteers, and students to strengthen this global community. Our goal is to support your work, improve the competition experience, expand opportunity for students, and keep participation as accessible and cost-effective as possible.
The next chapter is about building on a strong foundation — honoring the work already done, supporting the people who make these events possible, and creating an even stronger future for students around the world.
Thank you for everything you do. We are excited to build this next chapter with you.
With gratitude,
Vince Bertram
President
After reviewing available information from VEX, Global Robotics & Science Foundation, and RECF, we will be moving forward with a partnership directly with VEX and Global Robotics & Science Foundation.
RECF's program is slightly less expensive ($175 registration per team instead of $200), but they have already announced a delay in the start of their program; and with pending litigation from VEX, their future seems uncertain.
You are welcome to register with RECF and participate in their program and still participate in the AISD Recreational League and our unofficial scrimmages; however, only teams registered with Global Robotics & Science Foundation will be able to participate in our official VEX IQ League Tournament in January. That said, you are welcome to attend RECF "official" tournaments instead if you feel like that route better suits your needs.
No matter what you decide, we are here to support you in any way we can!
