Mr. Parmer grew up in Pasadena, first learning the French horn in 1993. He graduated from University of Houston in 2006 and began working at Clear Lake Intermediate in Clear Creek ISD. In 2015, he was promoted to the head band director. During his 18 years at CLIS, his bands earned consistent sweepstakes with superior ratings on stage and in sight-reading.Mr. Parmer met his lovely wife, Lynnette, who was an All-State clarinetist and baton twirler in the Spirit of Houston Marching Band. They have 3 daughters: Melissa (14) who plays the oboe, Abi (12) plays the bassoon, and Kaylee (11) who plays the flute. The entire Parmer family are 1st degree black bels in Taekwondo! Mr. Parmer attends South Belt Church in the Sagemont area, where he has served as the worship pastor since 2009, singing and playing guitar and piano.In his free time, Mr. Parmer loves to play Ultimate Frisbee and disc golf, as well as doing family board game nights. He loves to solve Rubik’s Cubes and other twisty puzzles. His 3x3 personal best record is 15.27 seconds. He has an impressive Transformers collection and he will beat you at Super Smash Bros.Mr. Parmer is responsible for teaching the Symphonic Band, an ensemble that has earned consistent Sweepstakes at the UIL Concert and Sightreading Evaluation. His beginner band classes include Trumpet, Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, and Tuba.
