Wow! April came and went so fast! We had a lot of testing and were unable to see all of our reading classes as we normally do, but we did see some 7th-grade classes for a Symbolism lesson and some 6th-grade classes for Book Creator lessons. 8th grade finally had their final makerspace of the year, and we reviewed Newton's Laws of Motion while creating our own egg drops.
We have a lot coming up in May. First and foremost, library books are due, and accounts need to be cleared for students to enjoy their whole Falcon Fun Day on May 19th. We need their accounts cleared by Friday, May 15th. The Library System will be sending notices daily to remind students of what they have checked out.
Second, we finally get to duct tape Mrs. Jackson & Mr. Alder to the wall on May 15th during both lunches. We have 124 students who logged 250 minutes during the Read- A- Thon. Students will get their coupons to participate during their 4th-period class on May 15th. We still need lots of duct tape. Donations can be brought to the library.
PTO will be awarding the 297 students who participated in the Read-A-Thon by activating their accounts with ice cream sandwiches on May 15th as well! We are so excited and thankful for this celebratory reward!
As the end of the year is near, MySchool Bucks will now communicate with our Library System. Once a book is marked as lost due to being 90 days late, lost, or damaged, an invoice will be sent by MySchool Bucks, and it can be paid online with that invoice. We can still take cash payments in the library, but MySchool Bucks will allow a more streamlined way of paying for books.
