Artist Statement
My art is an extension of my intuition. I create from a place of emotion, spontaneity, and inspiration, never forcing the process. When I try to control it too much, the work feels hollow—like it's missing the soul that makes it worth creating. I believe that meaningful art comes naturally, and for me, that means working in bursts of motivation and emotion, driven by both personal experience and curiosity.
Over time, I've expanded my creative practice and explored new mediums. While digital art remains my most familiar form, where I explore imagination and fleeting moments of inspiration, I’ve also discovered a deep connection with fiber arts. In particular, natural dyeing and papermaking with recycled materials have opened up an entirely new dimension of artmaking for me. These practices have brought me closer to nature and sustainability, something I’ve grown passionate about. Working with repurposed materials presents unique challenges, but those limitations push me to be more thoughtful and inventive in my process.
This growth in exploration has not shifted my core approach—it has deepened it. Whether I’m creating digital pieces, hand-dyed textiles, or recycled paper works, I continue to respond to my internal world and the lives of those around me. My art is rooted in identity and advocacy, particularly around LGBTQ+ experiences. These stories—my own and those of my community—remain central to my work, serving as both subject and source of motivation.
Ultimately, my art is still intuitive and emotional. It reflects the state I’m in, the people I care about, and the environment I live in. I am committed to using my practice not just as a personal outlet, but as a way to connect, challenge, and bring awareness, while honoring both sustainability and self-expression.
