Designed with love by the Steering Committee of the Disability and Neurodivergence Alumni Collective, the DNAC stole draws inspiration from the Disability Pride Flag, which features green, white, pink, yellow, and blue parallel lines.
On the DNAC stole, these colorful lines are non-linear, representing the fluid and ever-changing nature of disability. The lines curve, twist, and intersect at various points, moving on their own path, but ultimately in a shared direction. This is meant to represent the uniqueness of each person’s experience with and relationship to disability and/or neurodivergence, but also, how our Disability Justice community at Brown and beyond weaves us together across our various shared experiences and identities.
