Dr. Taylor Gordon
Dr. Gordon was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio and attended Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio, where he studied biology and obtained his undergraduate degree with honors in 2011. He went on to attend dental school at the Ohio State University, where he graduated with honors in 2015. Dr. Gordon began his pursuit of training in anesthesiology after discovering that he could combine his dental training with his aptitude for medicine, pharmacology, and physiology.
Dr. Gordon completed a three-year residency in dental anesthesiology within the top-ranked University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. During his training, Dr. Gordon completed rotations in internal medicine, critical care medicine, cardiology, and pediatric emergency medicine. He also provided anesthesia for a wide variety of surgical procedures and specialties including general surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics, plastic surgery, trauma, orthopedics, thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, ENT, maxillofacial surgery, and more.
One of the greatest advantages to his training was the time spent specifically with dental patients in an office-based setting, where he treated patients across a wide range of ages and health statuses. The University of Pittsburgh is home to the Center for Patients with Special Needs, where Dr. Gordon treated hundreds of patients who were either turned away by or unable to cooperate with treatment at traditional dental practices and children’s hospitals. Some of the most rewarding work in Dr. Gordon’s career involves providing access to care for patients with special needs as well as to children, who are often pre-cooperative or afraid of dental treatment.
Dr. Gordon’s mission is to provide a full range of safe, office-based anesthesiology services to dental patients across a wide spectrum of ages and levels of cooperation. When he is not working, Dr. Gordon enjoys mountain biking, road cycling, and skiing. Dr. Gordon is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology.
