Dr. Ryen Birkinbine
Dr. Birkinbine grew up in the Twin Cities region of Minnesota. He attended the University of Minnesota where he obtained an undergraduate degree in Chemistry. Following his undergraduate studies, he moved west to Colorado where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Colorado.
After receiving his dental degree, Dr. Birkinbine completed a three-year hospital-based residency program in Dental Anesthesiology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. During his training at UPMC, Dr. Birkinbine provided anesthetic management for patients of all ages and health statuses. As a dental anesthesiology resident, he was able to train alongside his medical colleagues and provide care to patients undergoing a wide variety of surgical procedures and specialties. In addition to direct anesthesia training, he also completed rotations in internal medicine, critical care medicine, pulmonology and advanced lung disease, and pediatric emergency medicine.
He is especially grateful for his pediatric focused training at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh as well as the opportunity to provide care for medically complex patients at the University of Pittsburgh Center for Patients with Special Needs. Dr. Birkinbine also received extensive training in outpatient office-based anesthesia specifically for maxillofacial and dental procedures. He is passionate about expanding access to dental care for his patients that are either apprehensive, anxious or unable to tolerate dental work in a traditional setting.
In his free time, Dr. Birkinbine can be found exploring the outdoors with his wife, Suzanne and their dog. They enjoy spending time in the mountains camping, skiing, mountain biking, or catching the sunrise on the summit of a Colorado 14er. Dr. Birkinbine is honored to be back in Colorado and strives to provide his patients with the highest level of care and respect.
