Good afternoon invited guests, students and staff. It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the PYPX 2021.
In many ways this exhibition is a first; the first time our Grade 5 students are leading the exhibition, the first time that it has been done all online, and the first live virtual exhibition ceremony.
Our students have been learning about their passions and interests, how this can inspire them to learn. They have worked tirelessly preparing, they have become researchers, problem-solvers and have learned many valuable lessons along the way. I had the privilege of attending their practice sessions and I am truly impressed by their ability to inquire, formulate questions and act decisively. What makes it even more impressive is that this has all happened in the online context.
We are grateful to the teachers and mentors who have supported, guided and worked alongside the students. Our thanks to all you parents as well. You have also been a part of your child’s journey through the PYP.
As our students share their learning with you, ask them how they came about the conclusions to their inquiries. Has there been any resulting action? And most importantly, how has this impacted them as individuals.
