WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW???
From now until March, students are on their own to read as many of the 20 books from their grade's list as they can. If they read at least 5 they will be invited to our end of club party at the end of the year.
On September 10 we will have one club meeting before school at 8:30 a.m. where students will form their BOB team and decide which books each team member will read (it is encouraged for each student to read as many of the 20 as possible).
In January, club meetings will begin. The meetings will be held 3 times total during the months of January and February for each group. 3rd & 4th graders will meet together and 5th & 6th will graders will meet together. In the meetings we will practice answering questions about the books as well as do some practice battles for fun. All of the questions will be answered with the title of a book, and the author's name too for bonus points. Students should practice associating the title with the author's last name. Flashcards will be given at the first club meeting in September.
Students will receive a button from Mrs. Wilson for each book that they complete. Students who read all 20 books on their list will receive an award at the club party. The winning team members from the battles will also receive trophies .
Bookmarks are available in the Riverview library to check off which of the 20 books they have read, or you may print one by clicking the bookmarks at the links below:

All of the books on both lists are available in the Riverview library and on SORA, and the local city libraries usually have all the books too.
If your student wants to read the books but not participate in the battles, that is great. They will just need to let Mrs. Wilson know in SEPTEMBER when we form the BOB teams. In order to attend the BOB party, students who do not participate in the battles must read at least 10 of the books on their list.
The BOB books may count towards any other library reading challenges we do during the year.
