For all 3rd-6th grade students, they have the option to participate in our reading challenge this year by reading 24 books total:Â
8 Chapter books (2 of these may be in a graphic novel format)
8 Nonfiction books ("how-to" books are NOT included, such as Origami or Cookbooks)
8 Picture books
All of these books will be recorded on the student's yellow Reading Tracker page at home.
For the Chapter and Nonfiction books only, students will fill out one Book Review form for each book (including a parent signature to verify the student read the whole book) and turn it in for a small prize and an entry into the monthly prize drawing. Mrs. Wilson will keep these papers in the library until May.
When the student completes the WHOLE CHALLENGE, they bring the yellow paper to Mrs. Wilson in the library to receive a larger prize, including a Chick-fil-A meal "free meal" card, their reading poster printed (they will be creating in this in their technology class with Mrs. Sauers), and MORE!
Every month from September thru April, kindergarten students may complete and turn in one reading challenge paper, following the directions on the page above. They will receive a small prize and an entry into that month's prize drawing for a free book! Students who complete at least 5 pages this year will receive a larger prize.
