Learning how to read notes on the staff with the recorder.
Book: I Can Do Hard Things
It was so fun to see everyone back at school. On our first week of music, we got reacquainted with the students that were in 3rd grade last year and got to meet friends that are new in 4th grade this year. We watched the video of the book entitled "I Can Do Hard Things." We discussed how learning music can be hard sometimes. We talked about how it is ok to not know it all, make mistakes, be yourself, have hard days, and ask for help. I am looking forward to working with all 4th graders to learn how to read music on the staff while learning how to play the recorder. It was a great week!!
Each student will need to have their own recorder. They will be kept in a box in the music room. If you have one you would like to bring from home, please make sure your name is on the instrument. If you do not have one, you can purchase one at any of the local music stores. I also can place an order for recorders from West Music. The cost will be $3.50 for each recorder. If you would like for me to order a recorder, please send the money with your student’s name and their classroom teacher. If you are unable to get a recorder, I have some school recorders that will be assigned to those students. I sanitize every recorder. I only have a limited amount of recorders so I highly encourage each student to bring their own. Contact me if you have any questions.
We have been getting ready for our Christmas Sing. This will be held on Friday, December 15th. Performance times will be posted on Ridgeline Review. We're excited to share what we have been working on!!
