Deaf Art has another Name. De'Via, or Deaf View/Image Art, is a cultural expression of the deaf experience. It is a way for the people that are a part of this culture to express themselves through their cultural experience, their language, as well as their point of view. Students in Mrs. Kelly's class took part in the cultural expression. Students were asked to create art on their hands. Students were supposed to pick a sign that they like and paint their hand to look like that object. I then took a picture of each student showing the sign for what they painted their hands to look like. This Handscape journey is a form of *Deaf art. Below, you will see the students and their work!
