Assessment for Learning

Assessments are a vital part of teaching. If we don't have good formative assessments and questions then we can guess that students are learning , but we can't guarantee it. This is the point of assessment to show not only students that they are growing, but teachers can learn so much as well. From my formative assessments I can learn what activities and practices actually produced learning in my classroom. I also can prove that my students are learning and know how I can intervene to help those that are struggling succeed.

I included this because these are examples of simple question that I ask to assess student learning in my classroom. I also like to include skills based questions in my formative assessments.
