US Almma Health Terms and Conditions
Last Updated: October 5, 2026
Welcome to Almma! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Almma mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service") provided by Almma Health Corporation ("Almma," "we," "us," or "our").
By downloading, installing, or using our app, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don't agree with any part of these Terms, please don't use our Service.
Almma is an AI-powered app that helps you choose what to eat at a restaurant based on your way of eating, the foods you avoid, and environmental impact. We:
Find the restaurant's menu, or read a photo of it that you take, and recommend dishes that fit your way of eating and no-go foods, with any changes to ask for.
Show a tiered estimate of each recommended dish's environmental impact to help you discover lower-carbon choices.
Use AI and behavior change science to personalize recommendations.
You must be at least 18 years old to use our Service.
You must be located in a country where Almma is available.
You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
You're responsible for keeping your account secure.
You'll create a username that is stored on your device only. We do not ask for or store your real name. Your email address (or, if you sign in with Apple, a relay address Apple provides) is used for sign-in, account recovery, and important notices about your account or these Terms. We never use it for marketing.
Tell us how you eat: your way of eating and your no-go foods. These are saved to your account and on your device so we can personalize your recommendations.
You can update them anytime in the app.
With your permission, we use your location while the app is open in three ways:
To show restaurants near you. Your phone sends your location directly to Google Maps to find them.
When you photograph a menu, to work out the local time so we read the right menu (for example, lunch or dinner). Your phone sends its last known location to our server, which turns it into a time zone straight away. Your location is not stored, logged, or kept in any record of the request.
When you review a dish from a menu you photographed, your phone asks its operating system's location service (Apple's on iPhone, Google's on Android) to turn your location into a city and country. Only the city and country are saved, with the restaurant.
You can turn off location access anytime in your device settings. Without it, you can still search for restaurants by name and photograph menus.
You can review and rate dishes you've eaten.
Your reviews are private to you. They appear in Your activity, and you can share one as an image if you choose.
We do not currently use your reviews to make recommendations.
In future versions, we may introduce public review features. If we do, we'll notify you and ask for your consent before any review of yours is made public.
You can delete your reviews anytime.
Please keep your way of eating and no-go foods up to date; we rely on them to make relevant recommendations.
You're responsible for checking that recommendations fit your specific needs.
We collect menu information from restaurants, third-party services, and public sources.
Restaurant information may not always be current or complete.
We're not responsible for menu accuracy, pricing, or availability.
Always verify ingredients and preparation methods with restaurant staff.
We cannot guarantee that menu items are free from allergens or cross-contamination, or that they fit your way of eating or avoid your no-go foods. You must verify all allergen and ingredient information directly with restaurant staff before consuming any food.
Almma is a recommendation tool, not a substitute for direct communication with restaurants
When you photograph a menu, Almma uses artificial intelligence to read the text and symbols. Your photos are sent to our AI providers (Google and Anthropic) to be read. During our beta, we keep them for up to 14 days, together with a record of the request, so we can find and fix reading errors; they are then deleted automatically. Photos are removed from your phone once the menu has been read or you leave the camera. AI is not perfect: blurry images, poor lighting, or confusing menu layouts can result in misread items. Our analysis is a highly educated guide, not a guarantee.
Use the app to find restaurants and menu items and leave reviews of items you order
Share your positive experiences with others
Provide feedback to help us improve
Share false or misleading information
Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or disrupt our Service
Use the app for any illegal purposes
Create fake accounts or impersonate others
Copy, distribute, or modify our content without permission
We use artificial intelligence to analyze menus and provide personalized recommendations.
Our AI considers your ways of eating, no-go foods, and food’s environmental impact data.
Recommendations are suggestions based on available information.
AI recommendations are not medical or nutritional advice.
Always consult healthcare providers for specific health needs.
Because we don't have access to the physical kitchen or chef's exact recipe, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of our dish tags, environmental impact calculations, or inferred ingredient warnings.
We aim to be transparent about our tiered carbon impact ratings. Our carbon and nutrition figures are built from science backed rigorous research and open datasets, including Agribalyse (ADEME), Ciqual (ANSES), and USDA FoodData Central, which we credit in the app. How we combine, weight, and apply them is proprietary, and we will not disclose it.
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who helps us process it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. In short:
We never store your location or sell your personal information.
Your way of eating and no-go foods personalize your recommendations, and our analytics count them without linking them to you.
During the beta, menu photos and technical records of each request are kept for up to 14 days to find and fix problems, and are not tied to your account.
You can update your way of eating and no-go foods, delete your reviews, or delete your account at any time in the app.
