Alma's Baby World opened its doors on October 1, 2000, as the premier early childhood learning center on the east side of Albany, GA. The founder, Dr. Alma G. Noble, established her first childcare center over 40 years ago and holds a doctorate in childhood psychology. Upon her retirement in 2019, Dr. Noble's daughter, Dr. Charlice Noble-Jones Dukes, took over the business. At that time, Charlice was a certified teacher in the Dougherty County School System with a master's degree in early childhood education and an educational specialist degree in educational leadership. After the COVID-19 pandemic, Charlice resigned from the school system and became the center's Pre-K teacher. This decision was one of the best in her life, as she now sets standards for fellow teachers while also serving as the business owner. As a second-generation minority female business owner, Charlice was honored as the 2023 Female Business Owner of the Year by the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce. Alma's Baby World and Early Learning Center, a Quality Rated center, is planning to expand to a second location in the fall of 2026. Dr. Dukes has a doctor of education degree in educational leadership.
