Potions: potions class is when the students learn to make magical potions which is taught by a teacher called Professor Snape(also known as Severus Snape)who regularly takes house points from all the other houses but his own which is called Slytherin.

Transfiguration: transfiguration is translated as trans-figur-ration. It is where you turn an animal into a nonliving item like an animal can be turned into a goblet like in this video here. The teacher who teaches transfiguration is called Professor Mcgonagall(also known as Minerva Mcgonagall) who is the head teacher of Gryffindor house.

Defence against the dark arts: defence against the dark arts is where the students at Hogwarts school learn how to defend themselves against dark magic.Recently in Harry Potter he has had several defence against the dark arts teachers like in his first year he had one called Professor Quirrell then in his second year he had one called Gilderoy Lockhart then he had Professor Lupin before then having Mad-Eye Moody then Professor Umbridge and finally Professor Snape.

Charms class: chams class is were you learn how to make spells one of the spells you can do is the floating charm called leviosa which court Ron some trouble in this clip. The teacher who teaches charms is called Professor Flitwick(also known as Filius Flitwick) who is the head of the house Ravenclaw.

Astronomy: astronomy is pronounced as as-tron-omy. Astronomy is were the students at Hogwarts learn to stargaze and all about the names of stars and the movement of planets and their location. The teacher of astronomy is called Professor Sinistra(also known as Aurora Sinistra).

Herbology: herbology is were the students at Hogwarts learn about magical plants like mandrakes in this video. The teacher who teaches herbology is called Professor Sprout(also known as Pomona Sprout) who is the head of the house Hufflepuff.
