See what they have to say about All Saints Pre-school
My son enjoyed attending All Saints pre-school and I felt the staff helped prepare him for the transition to school. Children were polite to adults and knew what was expected.
He was encouraged to be independent and make choices from day one. The environment is much more grown up than a nursery. Adults do not talk down to the children but rather listen and respect what they say.
The activities available were always varied and fun. Making bread, icing biscuits, painting, pretend shops, woodwork, counting games, dressing up, sand and water play etc. I liked the outdoor time for the children (whatever the weather) with the variety of toys and games. He loved forest school, especially toasting marshmallows and making a stick man. Popcorn the rabbit was also a favourite as we don’t have any pets at home.
He always needed a change if clothes as he would come home covered in mud. This was a sign he’d enjoyed himself in the woods!
The staff were professional, firm but fair. I think behavioural standards were high and the children knew clear boundaries. Children with additional health and learning needs were welcomed.
Preschool arranged so many additional activities for the children such as the carnival procession, day trips to a supermarket, nativity play at All Saints’ church, optional weekend and summer sessions for forest school. The dedication of the staff and parents was self evident. Sports day was a highlight for us with a chance for all children to win a medal and certificate on ‘graduating.’
My son made some good friends at pre-school and gained the confidence to start school with the excellent joint working with reception teachers.
I couldn’t recommend the care and quality of the facility highly enough. I have experience of two nurseries in Ilkley and three nannies. All saints’ pre-school easily was the best for my child.

"We are really thrilled with All Saints' Pre-School. Our little boy never really settled at his old nursery so we were a little apprehensive about starting a new one. However, we needn't have worried. He absolutely loves it here! The staff have been so friendly and have donean amazing job everyone safe this term while ensuring the children continue to have a normal experience. We couldn't ask for a more friendly, supportive and fun place for our little one to attend."

When my son started at All Saints’ pre-school, we had just moved home from abroad and he had never been to any pre-school before, so it was a big change for him. The staff were brilliant at helping him to settle in and guiding his behaviour to help him fit in and make new friends. There is a big emphasis on spending time outdoors and their beautiful location right on the edge of the woods, with a huge outdoor playground, I think really sets them apart from other local pre-schools. They do so many amazing activities like building bonfires, toasting marshmallows, worm racing, building dams, woodcraft and I have been constantly surprised at the new and interesting ways the staff find to help the children learn while playing… I felt totally at ease leaving my child in their care…they manage to create a warm, family atmosphere and the staff are mature and experienced – there is literally nothing they haven’t seen before! Over the years he was there I watched my child grow in confidence and we were both sad when it was time to leave! Such a great pre-school.

When looking for a pre-school I was surprised at how many there are to choose from in Ilkley. However, I really wanted my kids to be kids – to play in mud, play outside on grass and in woods, to be able to go on shop visits with their friends, and also to have a fabulous setting to help them appreciate the outdoors and the nature around them. That’s exactly why we went for All Saints pre School – no other pre-school could offer such a warm caring environment combined with the great outdoors. Open campfires in the woods, hot chocolates and toasted marshmallows are now great memories for my kids to cherish now they are at ‘big school’ and they still go back every summer to enjoy the summer camp. Can not recommend it highly enough.
