through play.
Our ethos is based on three core principles to aid children to become:
Resilient learners
Interactive learners
Confident learners
The key concepts that underpin our practice are:
Listening Skills – We would like every child to develop good listening skills, which in turn secure confident children who listen to others and work together.
Focused children – We recognise that each child has its own way of learning, or schema, and plan our activities to respond to this variety. This enables them to become focused learners and explore and use their imagination.
Skills into practice – Give children opportunities to learn new skills and put this into practice in the wider world, at home and in the local community.
Rounded individuals – We are continually developing our understanding of how we can help children learn and help them become rounded individuals, to explore every aspect of the environment and give them the confidence to take on challenges by taking a holistic approach.
A sense of awe and wonder - Give children a wide range of experiences, and empower them in their learning.
All Saints’ Pre-School is Ofsted inspected and we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Guidance, which has a strong focus on developing and learning through play.
Our team of dedicated, fully qualified and highly experienced professionals in Early Years Education form the bedrock of All Saints’ Pre-School. But we also recognise that you are your child’s first educators and we welcome parents’ involvement in all aspects of Pre-School, especially in helping to run special events and becoming a committee member.
Once your child starts at All Saints, you can securely keep up to date with their growth an development through Tapestry– an online and app-based learning journal.
A schema is a pattern of behaviour a child exhibits as she explores the world through learning, growth and play.
We observe patterns of play and become familiar with different schemas. This helps to have a better understanding of the children's behaviours and also fosters well-informed dialogue between parents and Pre-School staff about a child’s learning.
We are not a nursery setting, nor a childminder. We are a deadicated team of highly qualified early years professionals who have worked together for over 15 years providing the best experiences for your child.
Here are our wonderful staff.

I have been working at Pre-School for over 19 years and have had extensive expereince in previous roles in schools, Bradford Council and lecturing at Craven College and Leeds Beckett University. My work in early years has also taken me abroad to the USA and Belgium. Most recently I have worked for the Department of Education as an expert in the covid 19 recovery programme for early years.
I am passionate about children spending time outdoors, be that in the woods, parks, town and in the community and here at Pre-School. Children learn and develop through play and that's what we do best here at Pre-School. In my spare time if I am not out on my bike then I am walking up a very large hill.

I started my early years career here at Pre School as a student when I was completing my level 3 qualification in 2011 and then continued to work at Pre-School for a further 6 years whilst completing my foundation degree in early years. I recently returned to working at Pre -School in October 2020.
I am passionate about outdoor play and in particular the Forest school sessions here at Pre-School, a place that gives children complete freedom, and where I enjoy watching children grow in confidence and learn about taking risks whilst outside in the woods. I have also supported a number of children within the setting with complex needs and SEN.
When I am not busy at Pre-School I enjoy being with my young daughter, going to gym classes ( when time allows!) and spending time with my friends and family.
