TEXAS FLOOD RELIEF DISASTER PROFILE
On July 4th, severe flooding in Kerr County, Texas experienced catastrophic flash flooding that claimed over 120 lives. Heavy rainfall from July 3–5, with remnants of Tropical Storm Barry and Pacific moisture, dumped over a foot of rain in some areas north of San Antonio, causing the Guadalupe River to rise up to 26 feet. The region—especially communities along the Guadalupe River— have been severely impacted.
In response to this devastating Texas flood disaster, All Hands and Hearts mobilized an emergency response team and has been on the ground ever since. We have been operational within communities hit hard by the flooding, providing immediate cleanup support for two families. After liaising with the Hunt Volunteer Fire Department, we are expanding our reach to six different local areas in need of urgent support. Every moment brings new challenges, and new opportunities to help community members after this tragic disaster.
